Good morning, friends!

Today is mine and Jason's 28th anniversary! In full disclosure, this is a joyous day but it took a lot of hard work and humility to get here. This has been one of the hardest years of our marriage, and we can't fully articulate why we have struggled other than big changes in the transitions of parenting adult kids. The enemy knows how to attack for sure. We are committed, but it is not always roses and sunshine. This is real life. Thankfully, in Christ, He equips us with everything we need to thrive as we seek Him. Graciously, we have had Christ-centered community, family, and our relationships with Christ to encourage us to pursue joy together in this new life stage. Jason is a good and gracious gift from my Heavenly Father. I give thanks for all these things today!

If you follow me on Instagram, you have probably seen my series on spiritual frustration. All of us as humans will face emotions that frustrate us, hindering our ability to love God and others. The emotions of discontent, anger, longing, grief, and impatience will arise as we live in this "not yet" place. How do we handle these feelings when they emerge?

I have had great spiritual frustration at times in my life when things didn't go as I thought they would -- when my son was stillborn, when I had spinal surgery, when I longed for things longer than expected, when marriage wasn't 24/7 romance, when friends disappointed, when church felt lonely, when my mom and both grandparents died before I was "ready", when our kids grew up too fast. Yes, all of these life events and those specific to you as well, can cause us to question God and frustrate our hearts and minds if we aren't intentional to capture our thoughts, taking them to Christ. Being aware of our human limits and our dependence on God for all things is the first step in overcoming our soul's angst.

I have created a 5 day study for my readers on biblical examples of spiritual frustration and what God says will alleviate the tension. There are thought questions to consider as you read, pray, and think on the truths of Scripture. I pray it raises your awareness about the feelings we all struggle with at times and offers encouragement for moving toward rest and grace as you hold tight to hope.

That's all for now...I am going off grid to spend some time with my husband now! Happy Saturday, friends.
