Happy October, friends! Congratulations to Kim Shelby of Springfield on winning our subscriber gift bundle. Thank you for being a part of the community here! If you didn't win, look for an opportunity in December 2020. :)

It's officially fall. I love the coziness of this season with candles, sweatshirts, fall fests, and occasional bonfires. The autumn winds are refreshing after long summer days, even though I don't enjoy the daylight disappearing so early in the evenings. What activities or items of comfort do you look forward to in the fall?

Even though the next couple of months feel heavy with Covid still looming and the crazy election season upon us, let us not forget how good God is even in this. He is in complete control of all the events happening in the world and in our daily lives. If you doubt this, may I encourage you to pause and consider that your thinking might be in need of redirection? It is easy to forget what God has done for us through Christ. Death is not the worst thing we can fear; eternal separation from God is. When we remember this merciful grace to us, it is easier to put the rest of our circumstances into perspective. I invite you this month to join me in monitoring our thinking and capturing the lies we are tempted to believe. In Christ, there is endless hope and the possibility for change. Keep praying and believing that He is with you and for you. Express your gratitude daily and think on good and right things. I promise the peace that comes will be worth the effort! If you need prayer, please send me a message, and I will be more than happy to intercede on your behalf.

  • Using the ESV Illuminated Scripture Journal to take notes outside of my Bible while having the text in printed form. LOVE!
  • Meeting with young adult women to discuss the book, Get Out of Your Head, and praying together.
  • Coming home to my favorite soup/chili in the crock-pot! Click here for the recipe for White Bean Chicken Chili. I use leftover grilled chicken and don't always add green chiles or tomatillos if I don't have them. I just add more tomatoes and spices. We sprinkle it with corn chips and cheese. Yum!
  • Chapstick and face lotion are in high demand here with all this mask wearing. I love Burt's Bees. What do you use?

This book is an in-depth study of Romans 12:1,2. It is written in a practical way to help us defeat the lies that so often hold us captive to anxiety and fear. I love the simple yet effective charts used to help us realign our thinking!

Hello! My name is Jennifer Chastain. I am married and have 2 wonderful kids, a daughter and a son. They are my world, but outside of them, I enjoy crafting and taking care of others. I own Casually Adorned Accessories and run an in-home daycare during the week. These little ones have become my greatest career yet. I enjoy the little blessings of every day.
